Role summary

Company is looking for a product-oriented backend engineer who will act as single DRI for a production backend module. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with real ownership and decision-making responsibility.

The person will own one core backend module end-to-end: design, implementation, code quality, and production behavior. There is no co-owning of this module.

• Mid-level to senior
• Must already be comfortable owning production code

What ownership means in practice

This role is not ticket-based delivery.

The engineer:

• Is the technical owner of their module
• Implements features and evolve existing logic
• Makes local design and solution decisions
• Reviews code touching their area
• Accountable when incidents originate from their code
• Can refactor and change internal APIs when needed
• Expected to push back on poor technical solutions

Is responsible for their module behaving correctly in production.

Technical requirements (must-have)

• Strong backend experience in Python
• Experience with AWS serverless architectures (e.g. Lambda, event-driven systems)
• Experience working with non-trivial production systems
• Comfortable writing, reviewing, and maintaining production code

Important profile traits

• Product-oriented mindset (cares about user impact, not just code)
• Comfortable with responsibility and accountability
• Pragmatic engineering judgment
• Strong sense of code quality and debuggability (tests, logs, failure modes)

Nice to have (not required)

• Experience in optimization, control theory, or data science
• Experience in energy systems or similar domains

Work location & presence

• Office-based role in Lund
• The team works from the office
• Some periods allow flexibility, but there are phases where daily office presence is required
• Fully remote is not an option

Candidates must be comfortable with this setup.

• Can explain design trade-offs they personally decided on
• Has handled production incidents and learned from them
